Quis custodiet ipsos custodies / who watches the watchers

Listen, said He, You take the core,
If you want; just leave me the crust.

So; we learned to break sunlight,
a composite cataract of colour;
discovered gaps between them
and burst the locks of starlight:
all that we could know of age.

No, we soar beyond sound
singing past white noise,
violating gravity's fall to
peer at Diana's sullied rock.

We are but blood and bone
expansion still governs us:
can we know this universe,
side to side, top to bottom?

Time has us caught like flies;
amusing experiment played out.
Are we but a stone's throw,
from the ominous art of distraction?
